1875 – In West-Friesland Dirk Visser starts selling vegetables to exporters and retailers in the capital
1927 – In addition to vegetables, the sons of the founder start trading in flowers on a small scale.
1946 – Theo Visser decides to focus entirely on export and creates export lines to France, Germany and Spain. He is constantly exploring new activities.
1968 – Specialising in cut flowers proves to be a great success for the fourth generation of Vissers. Trade to Germany, in particular, increases enormously.
1972 – The trade in vegetables ceases. A year later the family decides to settle in Aalsmeer, the heart of the Dutch world of flowers.
1985 – The export toGermanyhas become a solid foundation. The family decides to conquer North America as well.
2000 – The family needs to find new premises as the business increases. DVZ joins 3 other companies in a move to a modern building in the Aalsmeer flower auction business park. All participating companies enjoy the benefits of this partnership: 4flowers.
